Sportsmanship
Physical Play
There will be a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and on the elimination of overly physical play, we seek your help and cooperation on this matter. It is the responsibility of the monitors and all players to maintain the spirit of good sportsmanship. If play becomes too physical, the court monitor will warn the team(s). If the team(s) fail to play with god sportsmanship, the team(s) can and will be ask to forfeit play for the remainder of the tournament.
Technical Foul
A foul for unsportsmanlike acts such as taunting, baiting, or trash talk. Unsportsmanlike acts involve derogatory remarks and/or gestures that incite or insult a player, fan or staff. Penalty consists of 1 point and ball possession to the offended team.
Intentional Foul
A foul where a player makes no effort to play the ball in order to prevent a player from scoring, dribbling, or passing. It is usually a foul against a player with the ball; however, it could be a foul against a player without the ball, who is cutting, screening, or rebounding, and is impeded or pushed out of an established position. Penalty consists of 1 point and ball possession to the offended team.
Flagrant Foul
A foul deemed unnecessarily aggressive and physical, such that it could cause injury. Such foul is a complete disregard of sportsmanship. An intentional or flagrant foul or warning by the court monitor is not necessary. Penalty consists of 1 point and ball possession to the offended team. The player who committed the foul will also be suspended from play for the remainder of that game and possibly for the remainder of the tournament.
Tournament Behavior
Any violations of tournament regulations, as; damage to property, disrespect to staff, fans and/or any other behavior deemed detrimental to oneself, other participants or to the organization will result in immediate dismissal from tournament.
